Topic #1: July 18-24, 2010 "Elementary"

For this week's topic, let's look back all the way to elementary and middle school.

If you could advise one young legally blind student to use any piece of accessible technology, what would it be? Maybe think about something that you use now in high school or college that would have made things easier back in elemementary or middle school.
If you can't think of a technology, then what do you wish you knew when you were in grade school that you know now?

Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to our blog! This is your new President, Sara Conrad, writing to invite you to prepare yourself for many new exciting things with our group! I am so honored to be your president for the next two years and have many great things planned to grow our organization.

The purpose for this blog is to be an add-on from our email list. I will post a question or topic each week that everyone who feels lead can comment on. If you have suggestions for topics that we should address or are of interest to you, please email me at president.acbstudents@gmail.com.

For our first topic, let's introduce ourselves! It can be hard to get to know people through email, so take a moment to answer a few questions: 1. What is your name? 2. Where do you go to school and what is your major? 3. Give us one interesting fact about yourself, if you have one.

I'll start. 1) My name is Sara Conrad. 2) I will be a sophomore at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan this fall. I am an occupational therapy student. 3) I have a Leader Dog named Sandy who is my greatest joy in life. I just got her in January.

See! It's easy! So just comment with your introduction.

Just a reminder, let's keep it all clean. I will be monitoring the site and will delete any offensive language or posts.

I look forward to a wonderful year!
Thank you,
Sara Conrad
